Chester and Anne do Merritt Island

 We did our first 6.8 km on Merritt Island.  The sun came out for the 1 1/2 hour walk then the clouds came in and snow/rain returned.  Chester and I are now relaxing (me with my hot tea).  


Merritt Island and Welland Canals Trail is a 6.1 kilometer loop trail located near Welland, Ontario, Canada that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and running.

HOPE FLOATS Journeys Around Canada finishes strong! 22,617 kilometres

  CONGRATULATIONS!   WE DID IT!    We traveled 2416 kilometers in our final week of our Journey around Canada, bringing us to a total of 22,617.57 kilometers.    Wow!    Way to go team!    Not only did we journey all the way around Canada, we did it with 1,500 kilometers to spare! Once we reached Lock 1 of the St. Lawrence Seaway Authorities Welland Canal, we launched our dragon boats and paddled up the Canal to the beautiful Welland Recreational Canal to make out way home to the Welland International Flatwater Centre! Where will we go next?  We are going to take a week or two to plan our next adventure.    The Hope Floats Grow Grant implementation committee is currently putting together a twice weekly zoom workout for Breast Cancer Survivors and their family and friends.     In the meantime, we hope to see as many as you as possible on the South Niagara Canoe Club Monday, Wednesday & Friday zoom wo...

Playing tourist in BC

I figured while we are playing tourist in BC this week that I thought I might go down my picture memory lane and see if all these beautiful spots in BC are still here. I'm sure that they are. Every one of them splendid I might add.  I guess I have always been fond of the water and who doesn't love a cute whale! I really hope that my next trip here might be a team trip dragon boat adventure. Anyone else interested? BC ferries to take you from Vancouver to Victoria on the island. They used to give wonderful history tours in the BC Parliament Buildings in Victoria complete with actors cast as Queen Victoria and her Royal Court.  The parliament buildings in Victoria lit up every night of the year! And my number one botanical garden favorite in Canada is the world famous Buchart Gardens. It's always blooming something beautiful! Anyone care to sightsee further up on Vancouver island next?
